Introduction

Vibrant, responsive, efficient organizations are never static. They remain effective because they can transform themselves to meet the changing needs of the business. Transformation, done skillfully and deliberately, keeps the team motivated, on track, and free of fear about the changes that naturally occur in a business.

Numerous situations create the need for team transformation. They run the gamut from technology changes, labor saving initiatives such as automation and outsourcing, to business mission changes, mergers, growth and downsizing. The articles below demonstrate situations I have faced and my approaches for elevating the value of my teams.

 
    Transforming Teams through the Maturity Curve
Businesses inevitably move through a maturity curve from startup, to emerging, into maturity, and then into absorption or decline. Movement along the curve is often slow, however leaders need to be reshaping their teams as the business advances to the next transition point.
